Job summary

CAPITAL LUMBER CO in Oxnard, CA is seeking an Operations Supervisor to support shipping/receiving and yard operations. The role reports to the Operations Manager and focuses on safe, efficient deliveries and equipment maintenance.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years in wholesale lumber or related industry, forklift certification, and bilingual English/Spanish skills. This is a full-time position with strong emphasis on leadership and process improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ wholesale building materials or related industry experience
• Forklift experience and certification; ability to train others on forklift safety
• Bilingual in English & Spanish; able to read/write/speak English as needed

Responsibilities

• Assists Operations Manager in yard operations.
• Oversees forklift operation in shipping and receiving orders.
• Schedules and distributes sales orders to staff.
• Checks receiving orders for accuracy and notifies managers of discrepancies.
• Oversees loading of all delivery orders for accuracy.
• Oversees remanufacturing process where present.
• Performs cycle counts and assists with scheduled inventories.
• Maintains yard housekeeping and completes nightly checklists.
• Trains and retrains staff as needed.
• Operates forklift to meet schedule requirements.
• Maintains supplies at reasonable levels.
• Ensures policies and procedures are followed.
• Keeps records of safety issues and acts accordingly.
• Performs other duties as assigned and adapts to changes.
