Job summary

Owens & Minor is seeking a logistics administrator to direct and coordinate outbound freight documentation and routing, and to verify reshipment of incoming freight. Qualifications

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions (written, oral, diagram, or schedule).

Responsibilities

• Directs activities assigning tariff classifications according to type and weight of freight or merchandise; routing and scheduling shipment by air, rail, or truck; and preparing billings from tariff and classification manuals.
• Reviews documents to ensure that assigned classifications and tariffs are in accordance with mode of transportation and destination of shipment.
• Investigates shipper or consignee complaints regarding lost or damaged merchandise or shortages in shipment to determine responsibility.
• Directs preparation of claims against carrier responsible and corresponds with shipper or consignee to effect settlement.
• Schedules shipments to ensure compliance with interstate traffic laws and regulations and company policies.

The anticipated pay for this position is as follows: $18.19/hr

Position Summary

Qualifying Experience

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
