Job Title: Warehouse and Logistics Associate

Department: Warehouse

Reports To: Shop Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Warehouse and Logistics Associate to support our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for shipping and receiving, inventory management, crate building, and overall warehouse organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics, warehouse operations, and hands‑on work in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties (Additional duties may be assigned as required.)
  • Prepare, package, and crate manufactured cylinders and related products for domestic and international shipment.
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including scheduling carriers, preparing shipping documents, and verifying accuracy of orders.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts, stock checks, and inventory management systems.
  • Assist with material handling, staging, and storage of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, and other warehouse equipment as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and shipping regulations.
  • Collaborate with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to support smooth operations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
  • Build and repair custom shipping crates to ensure products are properly protected.
  • Safely operate woodworking tools and equipment such as nail guns, staple guns, radial arm saw, drill, and other woodworking tools as needed.
  • Utilize diverse measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, etc.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or shipping/receiving (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Familiarity with shipping systems, bills of lading, and freight documentation.
  • Basic carpentry or crate‑building skills (preferred).
  • Ability to lift 25+ lbs. and perform physical tasks in a warehouse environment.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Team‑oriented with good communication skills.

Language Ability

Ability to read and understand safety guidelines, shipping documents, operating instructions, and company procedures; capable of completing routine reports, inventory records, and shipping paperwork; able to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external partners such as carriers or customers.

Math Ability

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry; ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Made2Manage, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, FedEx, UPS and USPS Systems.

Education/Experience/Specialized Training

High School Diploma or GED required, with 2+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or shipping/receiving (manufacturing environment preferred), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to work with various software and systems.
  • Ability to multi‑task.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and requests for assistance in related manufacturing environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
