East Penn Mfg., Birmingham, Alabama is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Lead, preferably with a CDL-B license. The role supports the Warehouse Manager in shipping/receiving, inventory and material handling.

Starting wage between $24.25 - $26.40 per hour, with pay determined by role, location and experience. A $2,500 sign-on/retention bonus for CDL Drivers is included.

Qualifications

• CDL-B license required and willingness to act as backup driver.
• Forklift experience on stand-up and sit-down forklifts required.
• Strong communication and computer skills; overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Warehouse Lead will assist the Warehouse Manager in day to day operations with responsibilities including shipping/receiving, inventory, and material handling duties.
• Pull orders, load/unload trucks, and prepare batteries for customers; occasional non-CDL deliveries.
• Deliveries to customer locations such as warehouses, retail stores, dealerships, and small businesses.
• Lead with CDL-B will act as a Backup Driver for a diesel or gasoline powered straight van up to 33,000 GVW.
• Overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

Warehouse Lead will assist the Warehouse Manager in day to day operations with responsibilities including shipping/receiving, inventory, and material handling duties.

• Our Material Handlers are responsible for pulling (physical lifting) orders, loading and unloading of trucks, load batteries for customers and may make occasional non-CDL deliveries.
• Delivers and picks up freight from specified customer locations, such as warehouses, retail stores, dealerships, and small businesses.
• Leader with CDL-B will act as a Backup Driver, driving a diesel or gasoline powered straight van with a gross vehicle weight rating of up to 33,000 GVW.
• Must be highly motivated and have good communication skills.
• Candidate may be requested to work overtime.
• Forklift experience required on both stand up and sit down forklifts.

Qualifications

Candidates must be highly motivated with good communication and computer skills, and be able to work with others. Shipping/Receiving, inventory, and experience driving box trucks are all preferred but not required, as training will be provided. Supervisory experience is also preferred, as this position will assist the Warehouse Manager in day to day operations.
