Job summary

Graybar is seeking a Warehouse Leader in the United States to oversee assigned warehouse areas, ensuring efficient loading, packing, shipping and receiving operations while maintaining safety and accuracy. You will guide teams, manage ERP processes, and uphold security and housekeeping standards.

The role requires leadership, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work with SAP and warehouse equipment. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with exposure to DOT and safety procedures

More than a job - a career.As a Warehouse Leader, you will lead assigned areas of Branch warehouse operations including logistics processes, inventory management, security, safety, housekeeping, equipment utilization, business system applications and all other functions designed to meet or exceed branch customer service standards.Occasional Delivery Driver responsibilities will be required for this role as well.In this role you will:Lead activities of employees engaged in loading unloading, selecting, packing, shipping, receiving and transportation of merchandiseSupervise incoming and outgoing shipment activity; ensure efficient, accurate and timely customer service to ensure service goals are attainedPerform any and all physical requirements necessary to lift and move inventory around the warehouseOperate and maneuver warehouse equipment and any material(s) contained thereon in the manner consistent with the intended purpose of the equipment and manufacturer instructionsMaintain the warehouse in an orderly and clean state; follow all Company safety procedures; perform daily safety inspectionsMaintain security of merchandise and equipment and ensure safe working conditions; responsible for all warehouse loss prevention programs; responsible for the accuracy of the daily cycle countsDetermine routing and legal load limits of trucks, inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications and direct movement of shipments from shipping and receiving dock to storage and work areaCompile records of unfilled orders, post weight and shipping charges and prepare bills of ladingEnsure all warehouse procedures are followed, including Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and hazardous material shipping; participate in, or may lead, Warehouse Steering CommitteeWhat you bring to the table:Minimum 3 years experience required: Advanced position with increased and more complex responsibilities under minimal supervisionHigh school diploma or GED preferredAbility to perform the physical requirements necessary to receive, pick, pack, ship, and move materials throughout the warehouse, including, but not limited to, standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, climbing ladders, cutting wire and lifting materials weighing up to 70 poundsAbility to operate and maneuver warehouse equipment, including, but not limited to, pallet jacks, forklifts and push carts, in the manner necessary to move materials and consistent with manufacturer instructions and safety instructionsAbility to work in a warehouse environment, including the ability to perform physical requirements, adapt to seasonal changes, significant temperature variations and inclement weather conditionsAbility to abide by safety instruction and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) or its equivalent is requiredKnowledge of warehouse layouts, operations and proceduresKnowledge of computers and SAPLeadership and organizational skillsMathematical, oral and written communication skillsAbility to work under minimal supervisionWork Shift and Hours: Monday - Friday, 4:00am - 1:00pmCompensation Details: The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $24.03 - $33.52 per hour depending on experience.Additional Information:Steel toed boots required.CDL not required, but must pass DOT medical exam.The Value of Graybar:At Graybar, we are known for our comprehensive benefits and our employee stock ownership plan!
