Job summary

M S International, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Lead in Houston to supervise daily warehouse operations, coach staff, and ensure on-time order fulfillment. You will use forklifts and overhead cranes, lead lean initiatives, and maintain a safety-first culture.

The role requires 2+ years in warehousing, forklift/ crane experience, and strong English communication. This full-time position is on-site with opportunities to improve efficiency and performance across shifts.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of supervisor experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years in a warehouse environment.
  • Forklift and other warehouse equipment experience required.
  • Overhead crane experience is a plus.
  • LEAN, 5S, or other continuous improvement training a plus.
  • Proficient with PCs, scanners and tablets.
  • Strong communication, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn product, process and equipment.
  • Ability to lead, train, coach and motivate warehouse staff.
  • Excellent English language communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise warehouse team and coordinate daily tasks and floor operations.
  • Pull slabs from the warehouse per slabs orders.
  • Move slabs to loading areas using overhead cranes.
  • Ensure products are secured on vehicles and safety measures followed.
  • Unload slabs from containers using forklifts.
  • Lead stand-up meetings and shift changeovers.
  • Train and certify operators (forklift, crane, scissor lift, etc.).
  • Maintain a safety-oriented environment and proactively prevent injuries.
  • Follow and enforce all safety procedures.
  • Use problem-solving tools to eliminate safety issues.
  • Keep warehouse area clean for customer tours during the day.
  • Use systems to deliver customer orders complete and on time.
  • Identify process constraints and apply lean methods to improve flow and inventory.
  • Lead projects and other continuous improvement activities.
  • Utilize 5S, 5 Why, PDCA and focus boards.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Job description

Summary: The Warehouse Lead is responsible for supervising team members, coordinating daily tasks and floor operations, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and maintaining effective communication across departments to support smooth and efficient warehouse operations.

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure day-to-day tasks are being completed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for managing warehouse members.
  • Pull Slabs from the warehouse from the Slabs orders provided
  • Move Slabs to loading areas by using overhead cranes
  • Ensure that product is well secured on vehicle/truck and takes all necessary safety measures.
  • Unload Slabs from containers using forklifts
  • Conduct floor operations and assigning team members to different areas as required.
  • Lead stand‑up meetings and perform effective shift changeovers.
  • Train and certify operators (including forklift, crane, scissor lift, saw, packing, loading, etc.)
  • In charge of maintaining a safety‑oriented environment.
  • Proactively prevent injuries.
  • Follow and enforce all safety procedures according to the standards.
  • Use problem‑solving tools and collaborate with team members to eliminate safety issues.
  • Make sure warehouse area is clean for customer tours during the daytime.
  • Use the systems to deliver our customer orders complete and on time.
  • Identify process constraints and use lean management techniques to improve material flow, quality, and inventory accuracy.
  • Lead projects and other collaborative continuous improvement activities.
  • Proficiently use problem‑solving tools such as 5S, 5 Why, PDCA, and focus boards.
  • Perform additional duties as required and or requested.

Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One (1) year of supervisor's experience preferred.
  • Minimum Two (2) years of experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Forklift and other warehouse equipment experience required.
  • Overhead crane experience is a plus.
  • Training or familiarity with LEAN, 5S, or other continuous improvement methods is a plus.
  • Effective use of technology including PC's, scanners, and tablets (iPad).
  • Strong skills in the areas of communication (written/verbal), time management, and problem solving.
  • Ability to learn product, process, and equipment.
  • Ability to lead, train, coach, and motivate warehouse employees.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and delegate appropriately.
  • Excellent oral and written English language communication skills
  • Provide high level of customer service
  • Good organizational skills.
