Job summary

NSG Group/Pilkington North America is seeking a maintenance professional for 1st shift to coordinate the maintenance team, install and repair equipment, and support safety and continuous improvement programs at our Ohio facility.

The role requires 4+ years of related experience, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Office and electrical systems. Weekly inspections, contractor coordination, and training are key duties in this safety‑sensitive position.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of related experience in maintenance or facilities.
• Ability to read instructions, diagrams, or schedules.
• Proficient in MS Office and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities of maintenance team members for setup, installation, repair, and maintenance of machinery.
• Assist in maintaining preventative maintenance programs for reliability.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the facility.
• Ensure planned work follows safety rules and procedures.
• Assist in training maintenance personnel on programmable controllers and electrical systems.
• Coordinate external contractor tasks and safety training.
• Manage repairs, loads/unloads, and weekly/monthly system inspections.

Primary duties:

• Coordinate activities of maintenance team members engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment and in fabricating metal parts and tools as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Assists in maintaining an effective preventative maintenance program to ensure maximum equipment reliability.
• Support continuous improvement activities within the facility.
• See that planned work is completed in accordance to safety rules, policy, and procedures by plant employees and contractors, as directed by the
• Maintenance Supervisor.
• Assists in the training of maintenance personnel in the use of programmable controllers and electrical systems.
• Coordinates all facility repairs with the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Loads and unloads palletized racking.
• Performs weekly and monthly inspection of fire suppression system including fire pump, maintenance of fire system, ensures good condition of fire extinguishers and fire egress signs/lights.
• Coordinate with outside contractors to complete maintenance tasks, complete work permits and complete contractor safety training prior to beginning repair tasks, as directed by Maintenance Supervisor.
• Maintains good mechanical condition of floor scrubbers and cleaners.
• Directs snow removal and maintenance of exterior facility conditions as necessary, as directed by Maintenance Supervisor.
• Will abide by all Federal, State, and Local requirements related to generating and disposing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste material.
• Must be able to operate a scissor lift, sit down forklift, reach truck, and cherry picker.
• Participate in annual RCRA training.
• Participate in Lock Out Tag Out Training.
• May be required to assist in training.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

• Demonstrated ability to adapt communication style to interact with a wide variety of people.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize objectives and targets to meet deadlines.
• Minimum 4 years of related experience.
• Proficient in ability to read a variety of instructions including written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to work indoors or outdoors in a wide variety of weather conditions and temperatures.
• Proficiency with MS Office software.
• Demonstrated ability in solving technical problems related to production processes.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with employees.

Qualifications Desired:

• Experience in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance repair of machinery and equipment.
• Strong analytical, innovative, and strategic competencies.

Schedule: 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 7am - 3pm

Hourly Pay:$18.00 - $20.00, based on experience
