Warehouse Lead Industrial Engineer - Start-ups (Remote)

Join Ryder System, Inc. as a Warehouse Lead Industrial Engineer - Start-ups (Remote).

This role supports Ryder’s Continuous Improvement culture by applying CI methods to enhance operations. The Lead Engineer will identify, lead, and implement change through data-driven CI, engineering, and automation efforts to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth. The position involves leveraging data analytics, engineering methodologies, and Ryder’s lean tools to identify root causes and eliminate inefficiencies. The role interfaces with employees at all levels and may supervise CI resources, reporting to the CI Manager or Sr. CI Manager, and works closely with General Managers or Directors of Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze data; map processes; identify gaps; implement improvements; develop and execute CI plans to drive value.
  • Manage high-impact CI projects to improve business results; support start-ups, retrofits, expansions, automation projects, and interact with management and clients.
  • Apply engineering methods and Lean tools; coach employees in CI, QA, and Lean principles; optimize layouts, labor standards, and flow.
  • Supervise CI engineering and quality professionals; participate in hiring and performance management.
  • Facilitate Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events; coach process owners on Lean methods.
  • Report progress; recommend inventory and supply chain strategies.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain QMS; implement corrective actions; support compliance and certifications; perform QA functions for start-ups or expansions.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio); data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau); database programming (SQL, DAX).
  • Proficiency in Lean tools, engineering methods, warehouse design tools (AutoCAD, Slot3D, MOST), WMS (Manhattan), automation solutions, and transportation design tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain with 7+ years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 5+ years. Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma required; PMP, ISO/QMS, APICS preferred.
Additional Details

Travel: 25-50%; Compensation: $105,000 - $120,000; Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and paid time off. Ryder is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
