Warehouse Lead Industrial Engineer - Start-ups (Remote)

Job Summary

This position supports Ryder's Continuous Improvement culture by applying continuous improvement methods to support operations. The Lead Engineer will identify, lead, and drive change through data-driven CI, Engineering, and Automation efforts to enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth. The role involves leveraging data analytics, engineering methodologies, and Ryder lean tools for root cause analysis and process improvement. The position reports to the CI Manager/Sr. CI Manager and collaborates closely with General Managers or Directors of Operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collect and analyze data, map processes, identify gaps, and implement improvements to drive value and performance metrics.
2. Manage and execute high-impact CI projects, support start-ups, retrofits, expansions, and automation initiatives, and interact with management and customers.
3. Apply engineering and lean tools, coach employees, and improve distribution and transportation operations.
4. Supervise CI engineering and quality professionals, participate in hiring and performance management.
5. Facilitate Value Stream Maps & Kaizen Events, coach on lean methods, and ensure sustainment of improvements.
6. Report progress, analyze inventory and supply chain strategies, and support quality assurance and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Business, Supply Chain) with 7+ years or Master’s degree with 5+ years experience in warehousing, transportation, or manufacturing.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office, PowerBI/Tableau, SQL, and engineering/lean tools.
• Knowledge of warehouse design tools, automation, and logistics systems.
• Lean Six Sigma certification required; PMP, ISO/QMS, APICS certifications preferred.
• Travel requirement: 25%-50%.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $105,000 - $120,000. Offers comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
