Job summary

Americold is seeking a warehouse associate to ensure safe receipt, storage, and shipment of food products. You will direct some shift activities, train associates, and monitor safety and workflow using forklifts and RF equipment.

The role involves loading/unloading, moving goods to storage, order picking, and daily inventory tasks. A GED or high school diploma and basic computer skills are preferred; overtime and varied shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the work of others, review shift plans with supervisor, assist in training associates and inform supervisor of problems.
• Load and unload freight safely and efficiently using equipment.
• Move product to storage areas with appropriate equipment.
• Stack and store merchandise in the correct locations.
• Pick orders for shipment and assemble merchandise for shipping.
• Check freight for accuracy, damage, or infestation.
• Assist in maintaining warehouse security.
• Promote safety in all operations.
• Participate in physical inventories as needed.
• Label, sort, wrap, pack, and repack items as required.
• Operate equipment safely: stand-up forklift, stand-up straddle truck, walk behinds, pallet jacks, double pallet jacks, RF devices.
• Report safety malfunctions and comply with OSHA standards.
• Follow attendance policies and meet production standards.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Charge or change forklift batteries as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
