Job summary

Shambaugh- is seeking a Warehouse Lead / Driver to manage inventory, coordinate material logistics, and ensure timely delivery of equipment to job sites. This role keeps field operations efficient, organized, and well-supplied.

Receive, inspect, and verify deliveries; organize inventory; track materials; coordinate with project managers; and handle safe storage of equipment. A valid driver’s license and forklift experience are preferred, with travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in warehousing, transportation, and inventory
  • Valid driver’s license with limited violations
  • Flexibility to travel to sites and work extended hours/weekends as required

Responsibilities

  • Label and organize inventory by job number and type
  • Maintain inventory logs using spreadsheets or ERP systems
  • Stage materials for upcoming job phases per project schedule
  • Coordinate with project managers to prepare field material kits

  • Operate forklifts or pallet jacks (certification preferred) as needed
  • Assist with packing/shipping to remote sites or satellite warehouses
  • Follow safety standards and company guidelines at all times
  • Conduct periodic cycle counts and warehouse audits

Job Summary

Shambaugh is looking for a Warehouse Lead / Driver. In this role you would be responsible for managing inventory, coordinating material logistics, and ensuring timely delivery of equipment to job sites. This role is essential to keeping field operations efficient, organized, and well-supplied.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and verify deliveries of fire protection equipment, conduit, wiring, panels, devices, and tools.
  • Interact / communicate with site personnel regarding delivery schedule and inspection admittance.
  • Label and organize inventory by job number, device type, or system components to support accurate field deployment.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory log using spreadsheets, ERP, or warehouse management systems.
  • Stage materials for upcoming job phases based on project schedule and delivery requests.
  • Properly organize material per location and building in accordance with the awarded quantities and bill of materials.
  • Coordinate with project managers and field supervisors to prepare and issue field material kits.
  • Track material usage and returns from job sites, ensuring proper handling of surplus or defective items.
  • Handle and store equipment safely, including sensitive fire protection components like smoke detectors, special hazard devices, panels, modules, and other material.
  • Perform routine warehouse upkeep such as cleaning, organizing, and maintaining safety standards.
  • Assist with packaging and shipping of materials to remote job sites or satellite warehouses.
  • Operate forklifts or pallet jacks (certification preferred) to move heavy inventory safely.
  • Maintain tools, testing devices, and field gear inventory, ensuring items are returned and in working condition.
  • Support incoming and outgoing logistics for long-lead items and large bulk deliveries.
  • Document and report damaged or missing materials to procurement or project management teams.
  • Ensure that the material storage is fulfilling the manufacturer guidelines.
  • Assist in periodic cycle counts and full warehouse audits for inventory control.
  • Follow OSHA and company safety standards at all times in the warehouse and during material handling.
  • Follow guidelines from the Operations / Site manager to maintain stock and cost.
  • Other duties as assigned and needed between the demand.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in warehousing, transportation, and inventory industry required
  • Forklift / Telehandler / truck driving experience preferred.
  • Proper material handling skills and familiar with warehouse / outdoor working conditions.
  • Reliable, punctual and safety conscious.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with limited violations.
  • Flexible to be available as needed to travel to sites.
  • Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Geographic Disclosure

Compensation Range: $26 - 30 per hour

Other Compensation: This position is eligible for an annual bonus.
