Job summary

AHEAD is seeking a motivated Lead Warehouse Associate to join our team in Libertyville, IL. You will lead a team in daily shipping operations, ensure safe, efficient, and accurate order fulfillment, and collaborate with departments to meet KPI.

This full-time 2nd shift position runs Monday through Friday, 3:30pm to Midnight CST. Responsibilities include staffing, training, inventory accuracy, safety adherence, and driving continuous improvements in receiving and picking processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 2-3 years’ experience in a warehouse shipping environment.
• Ability to read and write English, follow instructions, and do basic math.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Experience with warehouse management systems is a plus.

Job description

AHEAD is seeking a motivated and results-oriented Lead Warehouse Associate to join our team! In this role, you will assist with the daily operations of our shipping warehouse while ensuring a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. You will lead a team of warehouse associates, delegate tasks, and ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.

Responsible for the picking, packaging, and receiving of customer order items into the shipping department and shipping those orders in a manner that meets AHEAD's standards for safety, security, quality, and productivity.

This is a full-time 2nd shift position, and hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, 3:30pm to Midnight CST. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Lead a team of warehouse associates, motivating them to achieve and maintain a high level ofproductivity and accuracy
• Help Manager identify staffing needs and delegate tasks assigning labor as receipt-stocking-pick workflow dictates
• Help to oversee warehouse receiving, material movement, and picking of warehouse purchase orders andwork orders by actively contributing to those tasks while setting expectations and meeting KPI
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment for allemployees
• Collaborate with other departments, such as sales/account coordinators and production staff, to ensure smoothoperations
• Maintain and manage accurate warehouse inventory and receipt/picking records including cycle count initiativesand complete stock inventory accuracy
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Train new warehouse associates and provide ongoing coaching and development to the team
• Address departmental inquiries or requests and resolve any order fulfillment issues
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained warehouse environment
• Assist with planning and leading departmental and continuous improvement projects
• Assist with troubleshooting and root cause identification for receiving and picking errors and corrective/preventativeaction initiatives
• Contributes to creating, improving, and training on SOPs and Dozuki documentation
• Leading and assisting in 5s implementation, adherence, and audits
• Duties assigned by Supervisor or Manager
• Backup Warehouse Associate 1, 2, & 3 roles
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow step-by-step instructions
• Ability to adjust and follow instructions in a fast-paced environment
• Contributes to the completing of projects on time, using project management software to manage the projects

Education/Experience

• Required education and experience.
• High school diploma and 2-3 years’ experience in a warehouse shipping environment, preferably in a supervisory or leadrole
• Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions, and use simple math.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in warehouse management principles and best practices.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) a plus.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills – Microsoft Office Experience required, MS TEAMSexperience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Operate an electric pallet jack (required) and Stand-Up Reach Truck (preferred).
