FHI in Cheshire, CT is hiring Freight Handlers to support warehouse operations. The role requires English reading/writing, basic math, and the ability to lift 25–95 pounds and handle many pallets per shift. You will work safely with steel-toed shoes and respond to directions from supervisors.

Candidates should be prepared for a fast-paced environment and varying warehouse temperatures while maintaining accuracy and teamwork throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Basic math skills required for counting and measurements.
• Ability to lift 25–95 pounds and handle 50–200+ pallets.
• Work productively and safely in a warehouse environment.
• Wear steel-toed safety shoes and follow safety procedures.

Responsabilités

• Read and follow directions; communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
• Lift cases by hand and move pallets as part of daily warehouse tasks.
• Work in variable temperatures and maintain a safe work area.

High school education or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to speak and write English for effective communication. Basic math skills. FHI trainer experience preferred.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Basic math skills
• Freight Handlers must be able to lift cases by hand weighing from 25 to 95 pounds and can expect to handle between 50 and 200+ pallets
• Handlers are expected to work productively and safely
• Warehouse environment can vary from high heat to very cold temperatures
• Steel toed safety shoes are required
• Must interact respectfully and courteously with co-workers, customers and vendors.
• Handlers must have the ability to lift, walk, bend, twist, reach, push and squat the majority of the work day.
