Job summary

Refresco in Wilson, NC is seeking a warehouse/receiving and distribution specialist to support our production lines and logistics. The role focuses on adhering to GMP and safety standards while directing loading teams to meet customer demands.

The candidate will coordinate with trucking partners, ensure inventory accuracy, and help minimize costs. Required experience includes forklift operation and proficiency with SAP, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with a High School diploma or GED and 3+ years

Qualifications

• Minimum High School/GED required.
• 3+ years in a manufacturing environment, food/beverage preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Proficiency with SAP, Excel, Word and PowerPoint for daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to GMP, health, safety policies and PPE requirements in warehouse and production areas.
• Direct loading workforce to meet customer demands and priorities.
• Plan and coordinate logistics with trucking firms to ensure timely pickups and deliveries, and minimize freight costs.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and drive improvements to reduce waste and variance.
• Lead and communicate expectations to warehouse staff and ensure safe, compliant operations.

Essential Job Functions:

• Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and adhere to the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard toe and slip/oil resistant shoes, appropriate safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating forklifts).
• Responsible for adhering to food quality and food safety guidelines per Refresco, Customer and/or governing bodies (ex. SQF) standards.
• Establishes priorities and directs loading workforce to satisfy customer demands.
• Plan and executes logistic needs with trucking firms to ensure timely pick-up and delivery of shipments, while minimizing freight cost.
• Implements and enforces processes aimed at creating maximum inventory consistency and accuracy.
• Reviews and resolves operational problems to minimize cost and prevent operational delays.
• Manages the assigned business metrics/ budgets including yield, labor efficiency, and overhead expenses.
• Demonstrates leadership to warehouse employees to ensure consistent quality of work.
• Maintains effective communication of expectations and goals throughout the Warehouse environment.
• Ensure compliance to all OHSA and environmental regulatory and corporate standards. Investigate and identify root causes of any non-compliance.
• Accountable for a safe working environment through the development of strategies focused on accident reduction as well as energy and waste minimization.
• Oversee effective deployment of human resources throughout the department and ensure the correct administration of the collective Bargaining Agreement when applicable.
• Back up to Warehouse Supervisor responsibilities, as needed.
• Perform any other driving activities as directed by leadership.
• Clean/maintain work areas throughout the shift.
• Represents the company in a positive manner at all times.
• May have production machine operation duties.

Required Skills:

• Capability to read and write job instructions in the specified acceptable language(s) for the location.
• Able to work under deadline pressures.
• Organized and detail oriented, adaptable to change.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
• Must demonstrate the basic operation of powered industrial trucks.
• Must be forklift certified by an approved Refresco trainer.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to quickly identify and resolve operational issues.
• Technology: Familiarity with warehouse management software for tracking inventory and logistics.
• Technology: Proficient in SAP, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
• Cognitive: Ability to analyze data and process parameters to optimize production.
• Safety and Risk Management: Participation in safety audits and inspections to ensure a safe working environment.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum: High School Certification or equivalent (GED).
• 3 years + work experience in a manufacturing environment, food/beverage manufacturing is preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evenings, overnight and holidays may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
• Work Environment: Operating in a fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise level requires hearing protection, and temperatures can get very hot / and or relatively cold. The environment is structured and supervised.
