Classification: Non Exempt | Position Held By: OPEN | Reports To: Director of Warehouse and Material Management

The Warehouse Lead oversees and manages the warehouse, receiving, production supply inventory, and personnel.

Essential Functions (Mental & Physical)
  • Oversee and supervise warehouse production supply personnel.
  • Allocate shift responsibilities and delegate work to subordinates.
  • Ensure the team keeps accurate records of all inventory transactions between warehouse, scaling area, and production floor, including ingredients, packaging, finished goods and other.
  • Verify and monitor products, raw materials, packaging, and processing supplies to and from the production floor, tracking and communicating discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of goods and supplies such as allergens, cooler storage, dry storage, freezer storage and other.
  • Operate equipment such as forklift, reach truck, pallet jack throughout the shift as needed.
  • Develop and train the workforce to ensure continued growth and improved performance. Ensure job duties are performed in accordance with the job description and procedures.
  • Develop and implement cost‑efficient processes and procedures to realize cost savings.
  • Maintain an effective safety awareness program to ensure a safe working environment, including reduction of Short Term Disability and Workers Compensation claims.
  • Assist payroll in verification of time sheets, overtime, sick days, vacations, absences, and tardiness. Maintain accurate documentation of individual employee records.
  • Operate as an integral part of the department team, interacting closely in all phases of the operation to assure production of a quality product in a timely and cost‑effective manner.
  • Accountable for the completion of assigned tasks and projects by their completion date.
  • Treat all staff fairly, equally, and with dignity and respect. Build strong professional relationships through regular interaction with all staff members, especially new or temporary employees, and follow up on any items brought to immediate attention.
  • Accountable for enforcement of procedures, general policy, work methods, equipment operation, GMPs and safety policies.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Enforce corporate policies, processes, and SOPs to facilitate consistent, coordinated, and timely logistics operations.
  • Manage the efficient flow of goods, services, and information.
  • Ensure utmost data accuracy and integrity in the database.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot logistics functions in the warehouse, including inventory verification.
  • Pass non‑standard requests to the Director of Warehousing or Logistics Manager for guidance.
  • Oversee all Warehouse Operations, including inventory control and accountability, inspection of inbound/outbound operations, support to other sites, supervision of section employees, immediate reporting of inconsistencies, and other duties as assigned.
Non‑Essential Functions
  • Conduct disciplinary actions with guidance and approval from Human Resources.
  • Approve vacation requests in accordance with policy.
  • Participate in any and all facility meetings as required.
  • Fully complete and submit all reports within their specified time frame.
  • Accomplish staff job results through coaching, counseling, training, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
  • Complete operations by developing schedules; assigning and monitoring work; gathering resources; resolving problems; implementing new procedures.
  • Provide quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Supervisory Responsibility
  • Guide, train, and support those reporting directly to the Warehouse Lead.
  • Have primary responsibility for the supervision of those reporting directly to the Warehouse Lead.

Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor Degree preferred.
  • Bi‑Linguistic in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of warehouse management experience with a working knowledge of food equipment, scheduling, quality assurance, and food safety.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of food manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of material control, utilization, and maximization.
  • Appropriate administration of all personnel safety, food safety, quality procedures, and guidelines.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to set goals and objectives associated with continuous improvement.
  • Working knowledge of various regulatory requirements, as well as requirements set forth by customers.

  • Maintain confidentiality of information, including formulas, specifications, customer and vendor information, new product information, marketing strategies, and forecasts.
