A leading company in food distribution is seeking a Warehouse Lead to support management by leading a team, ensuring safety, and driving performance. This role involves training, compliance, and hands-on assistance in a dynamic warehouse environment. Join us to make a difference!
Location: 5505 Tacony Street. Philadelphia, PA 19137
Schedule: Sunday through Thursday 4PM to 12:30AM
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor(s)
As a Warehouse Lead, you'll play a vital role in supporting upper warehouse management by leading team members, upholding safety procedures, promoting company goals, and offering hands-on assistance where needed. Your leadership will help drive training, performance, and morale. You'll also participate in interviewing potential candidates and shaping the future of our warehouse team.
Lead and motivate team members to meet productivity and safety goals
Train and evaluate warehouse personnel
Ensure operational compliance and continuous improvement
Provide clear feedback and coaching to team members
Communicate effectively with warehouse management
Monitor and verify inventory levels and process accuracy
Operate MHE and use Voice Pick technology
Troubleshoot reliability and food safety issues
Perform hands-on warehouse duties when necessary
Maintain accurate paperwork and system data
Support a safety-first culture through daily actions and leadership
Participate in interviews for new warehouse hires
Education: High School Diploma or GED required;
Experience:
Warehouse experience (inventory control & distribution)
Previous leadership/supervisory experience required
Food distribution industry experience is a plus
Skills:
Strong communication, coaching, and organizational skills
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Comfortable operating warehouse systems and equipment
Ability to lead across departments and temperatures
Willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment
Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally as needed
Regular lifting of up to 50 lbs. (frequent lifting up to 100 lbs.)
Frequent standing, walking, and reaching
Comfortable working in temperature extremes (-10F to high heat/humidity)
Must be available for flexible scheduling
This role requires professionalism, courtesy, and tact. You'll interact regularly with managers, co-workers, vendors, and customers. Your leadership directly impacts morale and productivity!
