Job summary

John Henry's is seeking a Warehouse Lead to supervise daily floor operations, coordinate tasks with the team, and ensure quality and safety standards are met. The role is hands-on and requires guiding teammates to follow the daily plan set by the Warehouse Supervisor.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of warehouse experience, strong communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs in a physically demanding environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; logistics education is a plus.
  • 1-2 years of warehouse experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to guide teammates.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Perform core warehouse functions including receiving, stocking, order picking, packing, staging, and shipping.
  • Maintain warehouse organization and labeling accuracy.
  • Assist with routine cycle counts and correct inventory discrepancies.
  • Assign tasks to team members based on the daily work plan.
  • Train new and existing team members on procedures and safety.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and report safety concerns.

Warehouse Lead Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform core warehouse functions including receiving, stocking, order picking, packing, staging, and shipping.
  • Maintain warehouse organization and ensure items are stored and labeled correctly.
  • Assist with routine cycle counts and correct basic inventory discrepancies.
  • Assign tasks to team members based on daily work plan provided by the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Reassign work as needed to keep tasks moving efficiently when volume or priorities shift.
  • Support technicians with material needs by preparing, pulling, or staging items.
  • Train new and existing team members on warehouse procedures, equipment use, and safety guidelines, under the Supervisor’s direction.
  • Serve as an on-floor resource for questions and process clarification.
  • Identify issues such as missing inventory, incorrect picks, or equipment problems.
  • Resolve simple issues directly and elevate anything unusual or complex to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and help ensure others do the same.
  • Report safety concerns and equipment needs promptly.
Warehouse Lead Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is a plus.
  • 1-2 years of warehouse experience.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse processes and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Solid communication skills and the ability to guide teammates.
  • Experience with warehouse systems preferred.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
