Job summary

California Closets is seeking a Warehouse Lead to coach a small team and supervise daily warehouse tasks, including shipping/receiving, packing, and inventory control. The role backups the supervisor and drives efficient operations.

The position requires leading by example, ensuring safety, and maintaining layout efficiency. Benefits include health insurance, PTO, and a 401K match. Monday–Friday days with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 3-4 years of team leadership experience, preferably in a warehouse environment.
• Experience in supporting supply chain demands.
• Hi-lo/Forklift license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning new layouts and inspecting equipment.
• Track and analyze ongoing projects with Warehouse Manager; delegate tasks.
• Receive and stage all materials for customer jobs at company-owned locations.
• Ensure procedures and standards are established and followed.
• Inspect materials for specifications and stock in designated areas.
• Train new warehouse associates and forklift drivers; PIT recertification.
• Operate powered industrial equipment to move products for distribution.
• Ensure PPE procedures are followed; serve as backup to other roles.

Job description

The Warehouse Lead supports and delivers on the California Closets Brand Experience and is a key element in creating a healthy and cohesive work environment. The Warehouse Lead is responsible for acting as a coach/leader of warehouse associates and lead by example to inspire team mates to fulfill their individual daily tasks in addition to their own. The lead may have various responsibilities based on the specific department, this can include, but is not limited to shipping/receiving, packaging, inventory control, general warehouse functions or material handling operators (i.e. forklift operators). The lead will provide backup to the supervisor as needed.

• The pay for this opportunity is $28-$32/hr DOE
• Must have a valid driver license and the ability to lift 50lbs
• The typical work schedule will be Monday-Friday 7:30a to 4p
• Experience in leading a small team is preferred

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
• Responsible for tracking and analysis on all ongoing project in coordination with Warehouse Manager, delegate tasks/share results with team.
• Receiving and staging all materials for customer jobs at company-owned locations.
• Ensure appropriate procedures and standards are established and followed.
• Examine materials to verify specifications required and stock materials in designated areas of the warehouse.
• Train new warehouse associates and forklift drivers and conduct Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) and annual recertification training.
• Safely operate powered industrial equipment to move products or materials for distribution such as clamp/slip sheet equipment; load, unload, and store materials/products in designated areas.
• Ensure product material handling procedures are followed, model and train PPE.

• Serve as backup to other warehouse roles, as needed.
