Job summary

MSI is seeking a Lead Warehouse Supervisor in Atlanta to oversee daily warehouse activities, coach staff, and ensure safety and efficiency. You will coordinate floor operations, manage crane and forklift use, and uphold quality and timely delivery of customer orders.

The role requires 2+ years in a supervisory capacity within stone or related industries, strong English communication, and a hands-on approach to training and development.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisor experience preferred.
  • 2+ years inStone Industry experience required.
  • Strong English communication (oral & written) is essential.
  • Ability to learn product, process and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise warehouse members and ensure daily tasks are completed.
  • Pull slabs from warehouse as needed and move to loading areas with overhead cranes.
  • Ensure products are secured during transport and follow safety measures.
  • Unload slabs with forklifts and manage floor operations and shift assignments.
  • Lead stand-up meetings, conduct shift changes, and coordinate training/certification of operators.
  • Maintain a safety-oriented environment and proactively prevent injuries.
  • Keep the warehouse clean for customer tours and ensure on-time delivery of orders.
  • Identify constraints and drive lean improvements using 5S, 5 Why, PDCA, and focus boards.

Job description

Summary: The Lead is directly responsible for supervising warehouse members, conducting floor operations and complying with safety regulations in the warehouse.

Work Hours:

Monday to Friday from 08:00 AM to 06:30 PM, 2 Saturday(s) a month from 06:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Compensation:

This hourly, non-exempt position pays from $24.75 to $27 per hour, with overtime compensated at 1.5 times the base rate. New hires usually earn between $74,100 and $82,500 annually, or more, depending on experience, overtime hours, and bonuses.

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Ensure day-to-day tasks are being completed in a timely manner.
    • Responsible for managing warehouse members.
    • Pull Slabs from the warehouse from the Slabs orders provided
    • Move Slabs to loading areas by using overhead cranes
    • Ensure that product is well secured on vehicle/truck and takes all necessary safety measures
    • Unload Slabs from containers using forklifts
    • Conduct floor operations and assigning team members to different areas as required.
    • Lead stand-up meetings and perform effective shift changeover.
    • Train and certify operators (includes forklift, crane, scissor lift, saw, packing, loading, etc.)
  • In charge of maintaining a safety oriented environment.
    • Proactively prevent injuries.
    • Follow and enforce all safety procedures according to the standards.
    • Use problem-solving tools and collaborate with team members to eliminate safety issues.
  • Make sure warehouse area is clean for customer tours during the daytime.
  • Use the systems to deliver our customer orders complete and on time.
  • Identify process constraints and use lean management techniques to improve material flow, quality, and inventory accuracy.
    • Lead projects and other collaborative continuous improvement activities.
    • Proficiently use problem-solving tools such as 5S, 5 Why, PDCA, and focus boards.
  • Performs additional duties as required and or requested.
Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:
  • Effective use of technology including PC’s, scanners, and tablets (IPad).
  • Strong skills in the areas of communication (written/verbal), time management, and problem solving.
    • Ability to learn product, process, and equipment.
    • Ability to lead, train, coach, and motivate warehouse employees.
    • Ability to make sound decisions and delegate appropriately.
  • 1-2 years of supervisor experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Stone Industry.
  • Forklift and crane experience.
  • High School Education required.
  • LEAN, Toyota Production System, Green Belt, 5S, or other continuous improvement training desired.
  • Excellent oral and written English language communication skills
  • Provide high level of customer service
  • Good organizational skills
