Job summary

Sundt Construction is seeking a warehouse/materials associate to receive, identify, mark, process and issue materials on active projects. The role involves maintaining records, inventory controls and quality standards while operating warehouse equipment and using various hand tools.

Strong organization and time management are essential for safe, efficient execution. The position requires basic math, clear communication, and a willingness to learn and adapt to site procedures.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience in industrial/construction environments preferred.
  • Ability to follow instructions and document activities clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive working relationships with crew members.
  • Produce high quality work safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure materials, tools and information are available for the work.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and learn from others.
  • Understand safety hazards and follow safe work practices.
  • Perform basic arithmetic as required for tasks.
  • Safely operate relevant tools and equipment.
  • Work to eliminate waste (waiting, rework, transport, storage).
  • Consult a supervisor if any safety concerns arise.

Job Summary

Receive, identify, mark, process and issue material. Maintain a variety of records, files and reports: maintain records of materials and order supplies as necessary. Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits. Operate a variety of warehouse equipment and vehicles: utilize a variety of hand tools as required: Good organizational and time management skills.

  1. Maintain positive working relationships with all members of the crew.
  2. Produce high quality work, safely and productively at all times.
  3. Provide feedback to ensure all materials, tools, equipment and information is available for the work.
  4. Look for opportunities for improvement in all tasks, means and methods regarding the work and be willing to learn from others.
  5. Learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work.
  6. Effective Math skills - add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  7. Learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment.
  8. Eliminate WASTE such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage and time.
  9. If unsure about any aspect of the work or issues regarding safe practices ask a supervisor before continuing.
Minimum Job Requirements
  1. One year experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry is preferred.
  2. NCCER Core Curriculum and /or a High School diploma or equivalent is also preferred.
  3. Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements
  1. Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
  2. Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
  3. Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis
  4. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
  5. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
  6. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
  7. May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
  8. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
  9. Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas.
  10. May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
