Gem State Staffing-Caldwell has an urgent need for a laborer at a foundry in Caldwell, ID. This full-time, temp-to-hire position offers year-round stable work with a locally owned and operated company that's been in business for over 50 years! Our client is a manufacturer of essential metal replacement parts for the agricultural equipment industry, primarily working with cast iron and aluminum. This position offers a valuable opportunity for professional growth, starting with hands‑on training on the production floor in foundry operations before transitioning into a primary Shipping and Receiving Clerk role.

What is a foundry? I'm glad you asked. Here's how Wikipedia defines it: A foundry is a factory that produces metal castings. Metals are cast into shapes by melting them into a liquid, pouring the metal into a mold, and removing the mold material after the metal has solidified as it cools. The most common metals processed are aluminum and cast iron.

Foundry Production & Operations (Initial Training Period)

• Learn to pour liquid metal into sand filled molds (gear provided!)
• Inspect completed products for size and dimension tolerances (quality control)
• Use a belt grinder to remove any imperfections or metal burns (safely of course)
• Prep parts for shipping (no worries, they'll train you the right way)
• Show up to work with a great attitude! (Nobody likes working with a Negative Nelly)

Shipping & Receiving Responsibilities (Transition Phase)

• Receive incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling products according to specifications.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move goods safely within the warehouse.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory tracking systems and conduct regular stock checks.
• Safely load, unload, package, sort, and label stock and materials.
• Collaborate with team members to streamline shipping and receiving processes for improved efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience in shipping and receiving roles is required.
• Proficiency in operating forklifts, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment is essential.
• Familiarity with order fulfillment processes and inventory management systems is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and perform various physical tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong problem-solving abilities.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (No weekends!)

Pay Rate: $20.00/hr

Payroll: Weekly payroll, every Friday for last weeks hours

Position: Permanent Temp-to-Hire position
