Job summary

Sundt Inc. in South Carolina seeks a seasoned warehouse supervisor to lead receiving, storage, processing and issuing materials in line with plans, codes and industry standards.

You will manage foremen, coordinate crews, maintain records, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time workflow. Candidates should have strong leadership, safety mindset, and effective communication; expect physical duties and shift work.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years (level I) and six-plus years (level II) experience in warehousing and safety standards.
• Set standards of excellence in leadership, safety and productivity for crew.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, management and supervision for receiving, identifying, marking, storage, processing and issuing materials.
• Maintain records, files and reports; plan and coordinate resources to ensure safe, correct and efficient work.
• Ensure materials, tools, equipment and information are available; provide feedback for improvements.
• Identify opportunities to improve tasks, learn from others and apply safe practices.
• Understand safety hazards and perform tasks accordingly; apply safe work procedures.
• Demonstrate effective math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide) as needed.
• Learn to safely operate work-related tools and equipment; minimize waste.
• Clarify any uncertainties with a supervisor before proceeding.

Job Summary

Provide leadership, management, and supervision necessary for receiving, identifying, marking, storage, processing and issuing materialswork in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Maintain a variety of records, files, and reports; maintain records of materials and order supplies as necessary. Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits.Plan and coordinate the efforts of all foremen or crews under his/her supervision and provide all resources needed for the work to be done safely, correctly, and efficiently. Work with other foremen or superintendents to ensure that the work is coordinated and sequenced to assure that the flow of work and the schedule is maintained.

2. Produce high quality work, safely and productively at all times.
3. Provide feedback to ensure all materials, tools, equipment and information is available for the work.
4. Look for opportunities for improvement in all tasks, means and methods regarding the work and be willing to learn from others.
5. Learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work.
6. Effective Math skills – add, subtract, multiply and divide.
7. Learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment.
8. Eliminate WASTE such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage and time.
9. If unsure about any aspect of the work or issues regarding safe practices ask a supervisor before continuing.

Minimum Job Requirements

1. Must have a minimum of five years (level I) and six-plus years’ (level II) experience in the relevant market, in-depth understanding of warehousing, specifications, and safety and quality standards.
2. Must set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality and productivity for the members of his/her crew.
3. Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

1. Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
2. Occasionally climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
3. Will lift, push, or pull objects up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis
4. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
5. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
6. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
7. May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
8. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
9. Will interact with people frequently during a shift/workday.
10. Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas.
11. May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
