Job summary

Sundt Construction is seeking a materials foreman to provide leadership for receiving, storage, processing and issuing materials in line with project plans and codes. You will coordinate foremen and crews, ensure safe and efficient workflow, and maintain records for audits.

This role emphasizes safety, quality and timely supplies. You will work with clients and superintendents to sequence work and optimize resources, while continuously seeking improvements and upholding industry standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years (level I) and six-plus years (level II) experience in warehousing, specifications, and safety/quality standards.
• Leadership standards of excellence in safety, quality and productivity.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Job Summary

Provide leadership, management, and supervision necessary for receiving, identifying, marking, storage, processing and issuing materials work in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Maintain a variety of records, files, and reports; maintain records of materials and order supplies as necessary. Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits. Plan and coordinate the efforts of all foremen or crews under his/her supervision and provide all resources needed for the work to be done safely, correctly, and efficiently. Work with other foremen or superintendents to ensure that the work is coordinated and sequenced to assure that the flow of work and the schedule is maintained.

Minimum Job Requirements

1. Must have a minimum of five years (level I) and six-plus years’ (level II) experience in the relevant market, in-depth understanding of warehousing, specifications, and safety and quality standards.
2. Must set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality and productivity for the members of his/her crew.
3. Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

1. Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.

2. Occasionally climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
3. Will lift, push, or pull objects up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis
4. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
5. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
6. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
7. May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
8. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
9. Will interact with people frequently during a shift/workday.
10. Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas.
11. May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
