Job summary

Central Garden & Pet invites applications for an Inventory Clerk to join our warehouse team. You will balance records, check in material shells, label shelves and support production with accurate material handling. The ideal candidate has inventory experience, strong math skills, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Prior inventory experience required.
• Proficient in basic math; counting and basic math equations.
• Strong verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills; interaction with a variety of skill and experience levels within the organization.
• Comfortable looking up information in various databases (training provided).
• Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Must be solutions oriented and flexible in approach.
• Ability to complete tasks accurately as assigned with a sense of urgency.
• Prior forklift operator experience preferred; must be willing to be trained and certified to operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Check in material shells received and put them away in an organized manner, label shelves.
• Use Production Plan spreadsheet to pull material shells for production.
• Pull material shells for STO’S.
• Cycle counts.
• Keep the receiving area neat and organized.
• Put away surplus or unused production shells.
• Annual full-cycle Inventory count support.
• Supports other production and warehouse functions as needed.
