Job summary

The Missouri Department of Corrections is hiring a Stores Clerk to perform routine warehouse, canteen, commissary, or storeroom duties, including inventory control and item distributions. Requires two+ years of stores/inventory experience or equivalent education hours; duties include packing, labeling, stocking, and operating material handling equipment.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience as a Stores Clerk or equivalent
• OR two or more years of experience maintaining inventory items and related records
• Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience

Responsibilities

• Performs routine storekeeping duties in a warehouse, canteen, commissary, or storeroom; operates a tool storeroom or gift shop; leads/supervises staff, offenders, residents engaged in loading/unloading/storing/distributing inventory items
• Receives/unpacks incoming inventory items; inspects quality/quantity; labels and stores; rotates stock; operates a cash register; counts money; prices items; places merchandise on shelves; operates forklifts/pallet jacks/other equipment
• Fills requisitions; prepares items to be delivered or shipped; orders inventory; maintains records of inventory received/store/issued/ordered/disposed
• Takes physical inventories; maintains clean storage areas; works under general supervision; performs related duties
• This position requires contact with offenders.
