Job summary

The Missouri Department of Corrections seeks a Stores Clerk to perform routine warehouse and storeroom duties, manage inventory, and operate related equipment. The role requires two+ years of inventory experience or a similar background and a high school diploma or GED.

A base wage includes shift differentials and additional compensation for housing within a medium-security facility. Employees receive extensive benefits, including retirement, health, life and disability insurance, paid holidays

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience as a Stores Clerk with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System.
• Two or more years of experience maintaining inventory items and related records.
• Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine storeroom duties in a warehouse, canteen, commissary, or storeroom.
• Operates a tool storeroom or gift shop and supervises staff or offenders engaged in loading/unloading/storing/ distributing items.
• Receives/unpacks inventory, inspects quality/quantity, labels, stores items, rotates stock, and operates cash registers.
• Fills requisitions, prepares items to be delivered, and maintains records of inventory received/issued/ordered/disposed/sold.
• Takes physical inventories, maintains cleanliness of storage areas, and may have contact with offenders.
