Position Summary

The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, integrity, and quality throughout the distribution center. This role oversees daily inventory control activities, including cycle counts, inventory investigations, quality audits, and inventory reporting. The Inventory Control Supervisor partners closely with Operations, Purchasing, Sales, and Finance to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained and inventory health is effectively managed, including damages, rotation, shelf life, and inventory discrepancies.

What You'll Do
  • Supervise and coordinate daily inventory control activities and cycle count operations.
  • Manage and support Inventory Control team members, including cycle counters and inventory specialists.
  • Execute cycle count schedules and ensure timely completion of inventory counts.
  • Investigate inventory variances and identify root causes of discrepancies.
  • Review warehouse shorts, inventory adjustments, and inventory exceptions to determine corrective actions.
  • Monitor and report inventory accuracy metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Distribute weekly inventory, cycle count, damage, and expiration reports.
  • Partner with warehouse leadership to maintain inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure proper product rotation and monitor inventory shelf life.
  • Review damage and expiration trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support inbound and outbound quality audit processes.
  • Ensure products meet company quality and food safety standards.
  • Assist with internal and external inventory and quality audits.
  • Maintain inventory control and quality assurance SOPs and ensure team compliance.
  • Train employees on inventory control procedures, systems, and best practices.
  • Support inventory-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 3-5 years of inventory control, warehouse operations, supply chain, or related experience required.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
  • Food distribution, manufacturing, or wholesale distribution experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control processes, cycle counting, and warehouse operations.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
  • APICS/CPIM certification is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk warehouse floors and conduct inventory audits.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in various warehouse environments, including refrigerated areas when required.
