Job summary

Kenny Pipe & Supply, Inc. is hiring a warehouse associate to receive, store, and distribute materials efficiently at our Jackson, TN location. You will unload trucks, verify orders, and prepare shipments while ensuring accurate inventory and timely processing.

Responsibilities include picking items, labeling, and recording movements in our system, with a focus on safety, organization, and customer satisfaction. OSHA and KPS guidelines apply.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must have forklift training.
  • Ability to operate large warehouse equipment safely per OSHA and KPS guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist shipping and receiving by unloading trucks and checking in products.
  • Read customer orders and determine items to move, gather, or ship.
  • Sort materials by bin location and place on racks.
  • File paperwork related to orders and transfers in designated area.
  • Maintain a clean, accessible, and safe warehouse for staff and customers.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place on pallets or shelves.
  • Record materials received or distributed in the computer system.
  • Prepare parcels for shipment via LTL or UPS.
  • May perform facilities maintenance duties as needed.

This position receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.

Essential Functions
  • Assist shipping and receiving by unloading trucks, checking in products, matching purchase orders to sales orders.
  • Read customer orders, transfer orders, or shipping requests to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
  • Sort and place materials on racks/shelves/bins according to bin location.
  • File paperwork related to customer orders, purchase orders, receiving, shipping, and transfers in appropriate designated area.
  • Ensure the warehouse is accessible, clean, organized, and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  • Clearly mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via computer operating system.
  • Use proper weighing methods for shipment information when freight goes UPS or LTL.
  • May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed (trash removal, general cleaning).
  • Complete, fill, and ship transfer requests as needed from other branches.
  • Prepare parcels for shipment via LTL or UPS.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift/carry/push/pull heavy material or equipment (up to 75 lbs.).
  • Ability to climb stairs, descend stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle and feel.
  • Climb up and down a 12 foot ladder.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Must have forklift training.
  • Ability to drive large warehouse equipment safely and within OSHA and KPS guidelines.
