Job summary

OnTrac is seeking a hostler to safely position and maneuver trailers in a fast-paced warehouse setting. You will work closely with the yard team and Operations Management at our Desoto facility. The role offers a Tuesday–Saturday shift and a starting pay of $22.06 per hour in TX.

Required are a minimum 1 year driving experience with trailers, a clean MVR, and the ability to pass pre-employment screenings. We offer comprehensive benefits and a path in a dynamic logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
• Minimum 1 year driving experience, preferably with trailers or towed machinery
• Must pass all pre-employment screenings and background checks
• Must be at least 18 years old with valid ID and clean driving record
• Must be able to provide a 5- to 10-year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and understand safety instructions

Responsibilities

• Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment per Safety Program
• Pre-trip and inspect each trailer to meet DOT standards
• Position trailers on the dock using a yard switcher tractor
• Switch trailers as needed during the daily sort and hook up sets for line hauls
• Communicate trailer moves and numbers clearly with operations management

OnTrac Hostlers are responsible for safely positioning and maneuvering trailers to and from the dock. This position works closely with the yard team and Operations Management.

Pay: $22.06 per hour

Shift: Tuesday - Saturday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Hours are subject to change based on the needs of the business.

The Must-Haves:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both
• Minimum 1-year driving experience, preferably with trailers or towed machinery
• Must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings and background checks
• Must be at least 18 years old, possess a clean driving record, valid identification and be able to pass a TSA screening
• Must be able to provide a 5-year to 10-year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Basic English language proficiency (spoken and written) required for understanding safety and operational instructions in a fast-paced warehouse environment
