Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Material Handler in Elwood, Illinois. This role offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities to grow within a safe, team-focused supply chain environment.

Expect hourly pay of $20 with overtime at $30, a Monday–Friday schedule with some seasonal Saturdays, and training to advance. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs, stand long hours, and work in a diverse team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid Forklift Operator's License certified.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to work within a diverse work environment.
• Punctual with good attendance record.
• Able to lift and push/pull up to 35 lbs.
• Able to stand for long periods.
• Flexible schedule on various shifts.
• Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving and forklift operation.
• Work within performance guidelines and contract measures.
• Ensure accurate picking, packing, auditing, tote induction, staging and loading/unloading of trucks.
• Handle day-to-day warehouse paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
• Provide technical/maintenance support for automated packing system during core shift hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
