Job summary

Bob’s Discount Furniture is seeking an Utility Equipment Operator to support Shipping & Receiving in our distribution centers. The role requires operating RF units and industrial lift equipment to move product, and to scan items with the RF gun as they are placed in proper locations.

You will work in a fast-paced warehouse environment, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and teamwork. Starting pay ranges from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, based on experience and location, with benefits and growth

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Experience operating a variety of industrial lift equipment and RF units.
• Prior warehouse or distribution center experience.
• Ability to read and write, and comprehend detailed instructions.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Pick up product from Staging Area and offload onto Rack Shelving, Floor, or Stack Racks.
• Move products from Rack Shelving Units or Stack Racks to Dock/Bay area.
• Scan merchandise with RF gun during placement.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Comply with safety programs while operating material handling equipment.

Job Title Utility Equipment Operator

Job Overview This position will require a knowledge of both Shipping & Receiving processes. Flexibility in job assignments as well as the versatility to work both equally well. In addition, the skill to operate Lift Equipment, RF units, and physical skills to lift or push / pull substantial product weight.

Other Duties

• Pick up product from Staging Area and off load onto Rack Shelving units, Floor locations, or Stack Racks
• Pick up product from Rack Shelving Units, Floor locations, or Stack Racks and off load onto Dock / Bay area
• When placing product accurately scan all merchandise utilizing RF gun
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Ensure full compliance of all safety programs both while operating and not operating material handling equipment
• All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Physical Demands

• Able to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, push and handle and move items weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance.
• Ability to move throughout all areas of the distribution center.
• Move objects up to 250 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations
• Stand and walk continuously to perform job functions.
• Standing, walking, lifting, and arranging product: 90%
• Sitting: 5% Desk or phone work: 5%
