Job Summary
Forklift Operator role in Covington, GA, using forklifts, cherry pickers, reach trucks, and other equipment to move materials, parts, and finished goods within the warehouse. 1st shift (9:00 AM- 5:30 PM, Mon- Fri).
Roles And Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, cherry pickers, reach trucks, clamp trucks, and other forklift attachments to move materials and finished products
- Use conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks within the warehouse
- Receive shipments and manage inventory following FIFO practices
- Perform shipping and receiving duties
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Use RF scanners for inventory and order processing
- Follow hazard communication protocols and use PPE appropriately
- Apply basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks within defined SOPs
- Work within clearly defined SOPs and adhere to quality guidelines
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and Team Lead/Supervisor
- Perform basic math calculations and interpret documents written in English
- Operate within a metrics-driven environment
- Use general computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Outlook)
Experience
- 2+ years of warehouse or related experience/training
Key Skills
- Forklift operation (Cherry Picker, Reach Truck, Electric Pallet Jack, Clamp Truck, Hi-Lo)
- PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) driving
- RF scanner use
- Inventory management and record-keeping
- FIFO and shipping/receiving processes
- Hazmat and hazard communication awareness
- Cold storage warehouse experience (a plus)
- Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Basic math and analytical skills
Eligibility And Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred (not required)
- Able to lift/move over 50 lbs
- 10-panel drug screen (DT) required
- Forklift pre- screening questionnaire required with application
- Comfortable working near moving mechanical parts, in extreme weather conditions, and around vibration
- Occasional exposure to heights and airborne particles
- Comfortable in a warehouse environment with moderate to loud noise levels and seasonal temperature variation
