Pay Range: $17.50 - $26.50

Purpose

The Forklift Operator is responsible for using a forklift or other power equipment to load, unload, move, stack, and stage product for shipment to the stores. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and maintaining the facility’s equipment, along with a clean, neat, and orderly work area.

Major Responsibilities

• Load and unload shipments safely from trailers and containers.
• Efficiently stack and store merchandise in designated areas.
• Transport products to and from specified locations.
• Accurately pull and prepare products for shipment as scheduled.
• Operate all equipment safely and efficiently, following prescribed work methods.
• Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards.
• Inspect and perform minor maintenance on forklifts or other equipment daily.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and loading areas.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance warehouse knowledge.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• Two to five years of recent work experience.
• Excellent communication skills (must read, write, and speak English fluently).
• Self-starter with excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Class IV or V Forklift Certification preferred.

Working Conditions

• This is an hourly position, which may include hours exceeding eight hours per day or forty hours per week.
• Work frequently involves exposure to warehouse environments and moving vehicles, with noise levels typically moderate to noisy.

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Ability to exert 30-60 pounds of force occasionally, and 20-30 pounds frequently. Must frequently use hands and fingers, stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Safety and Training

Provide leadership and support safety training, participate in safety programs, and ensure all safety policies are followed. All safety concerns should be reported immediately.
