POSITION SUMMARY

The Warehouse Fabricator / Technician is primarily responsible for producing and repairing physical assets as directed by DanceOne management. Such assets can include, but are not limited to: road cases, signs, staging, set materials and show installations.

When not tasked with direct fabrication duties, standard warehouse tasks — such as inventory management, cleaning, moving equipment or helping to build stages in house — will be expected duties instead.

This is a hands-on role for a skilled maker who takes pride in craftsmanship, works safely without being told to, and understands that everything built here has to survive the road and look right under the lights.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Fabricate and repair production assets. Build, assemble and repair road cases, signage, staging, set pieces and show installations as directed by DanceOne management.
  • Keep the road case fleet season-ready. Repair and refurbish road cases ahead of and throughout the event season.
  • Operate the shop safely. Use bandsaws, table saws, hand and power tools, and pneumatic tools in accordance with all safety standards.
  • Build to spec. Work from technical drawings, cut lists and build specifications in both imperial and metric measurements.
  • Perform basic metal fabrication. Cut, drill, fasten and finish metal components as the build requires.
  • Support in-house stage builds. Assist with staging, show installations, and load-ins and load-outs.
  • Manage inventory. Receive, tag, stage and track materials, hardware and finished assets.
  • Move equipment. Use pallet jacks, carts and — where certified — forklifts to move pallets and cases throughout the facility.
  • Run local transport. Handle pickups and deliveries of assets throughout the Orlando area as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly shop. Keep the shop and warehouse clean, organized and compliant; use required PPE and keep tools in safe working order.
  • Pitch in. Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Carpentry experience, with a working knowledge of power tools and material handling.
  • Basic metalworking skills and confident tool use.
  • Familiarity with bandsaws, table saws, power tools, pallet jacks and similar shop and warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to read and work from build drawings, cut lists and specifications.
  • Capacity to manage heavy and unwieldy loads, and to stay on your feet and physically active for long hours.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as the event calendar requires.
PREFERRED
  • Welding proficiency.
  • CNC / CAD tool use.
  • Forklift proficiency; current certification strongly preferred.
  • Painting and finishing proficiency.
  • Experience in live events, touring, theatrical or scenic production.
  • Valid driver’s license and comfort operating a box truck.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Strong craftsmanship and attention to detail — work that holds up to repeated travel and load-in.
  • A consistent, uncompromising commitment to workplace safety.
  • Resourceful problem-solving; able to figure out a build with limited direction.
  • Reliable and self-directed, with the judgment to move to warehouse priorities when fabrication work is light.
  • A collaborative teammate who communicates clearly with warehouse, production and tour staff.
  • Organized and disciplined about tools, materials and shop condition.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Lift, carry and maneuver materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs; team-lift heavier or unwieldy loads.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb and reach for extended periods across a full shift.
  • Work in an active fabrication shop and warehouse environment, with exposure to noise, dust and moving equipment.
  • Work with and around warehouse racking up to 30 feet in height, using appropriate equipment and training.
  • Consistent use of required personal protective equipment, including eye, ear, respiratory and hand protection.
