Job description

Responsible for the safe, effective operation and servicing of mechanical, motorized and/or electrical equipment in the facilities work environment, including but not limited to forklifts, dollies, hand trucks, etc. Responsible for the safe movement of goods to or from various locations. Requires a sound knowledge of logistics, supply chain, materials management, and distribution/transportation processes and policies to meet business requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely during material handling, warehousing, receiving, processing, storing, moving, and shipping of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Ensure safety during equipment operation, especially when moving materials and entering/exiting trailers.
• Maintain safety of all personnel within safety zones of operating equipment.
• Verify quantities, parts, destinations, and timing using source documents prior to material movement.
• Use machines for weighing, banding, wrapping, and packaging.
• Service and operate mechanical, motorized, and electrical equipment in the facilities environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of relevant experience
• Basic mathematical skills
• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents
• Warehouse experience preferred
• Sit-down forklift experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Frequent walking, carrying, reaching, standing, and stooping
• Lifting, lowering, pushing, or pulling items of various weights
• Work at heights up to 20 feet
• Work in environments with changing temperatures
