Job summary

Norfolk Iron is seeking a Warehouse & Equipment Operator in Windsor, CO. The role pays $17.00 - $20.00 per hour with a 10AM - 6PM shift; training runs 7AM - 3PM. Monthly bonus, PTO, healthcare, and 401K with company match are offered.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts, man lifts, and overhead cranes; loading/unloading; building wooden skids; moving materials; and maintaining safety with proper PPE. Strong reading and English skills are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend work orders and safety manuals.
• Ability to understand written and verbal English.
• Ability to read a tape measure and use measuring tools.

Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities:

• Ability to operate forklifts, man lifts, and overhead cranes in accordance with company procedure.
• Load and unload materials and finished products from trucks and rail cars, where applicable.
• Build wooden skids based on design specifications.
• Manage the movement of materials to and from designated areas.
• Perform duties in a safe and efficient manner, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Report all accidents, incidents and unsafe acts or conditions immediately.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Able to read and comprehend work orders, directions, and safety and procedural manualsAbility to understand written and verbal communication in the English language.
• Ability to use and interpret tape measure.
• Ability to drive a forklift and operate an overhead crane (company will train and certify).

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Carrying up to 50 pounds at waist level for a distance no greater than 5 feet on a semi-frequent basis.
• Must be able to bend, squat, and/or crouch down using knee and hip movement frequently.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per day.
• Ability to push and pull weight of up to 30 pounds at chest level.
• Utilize manual dexterity of arms, elbows, wrists, and fingers.
• Ability to visually interpret multiple shades of colors as well as hear, speak, and interpret sounds.
• Work may be performed near moderate to continuous loud noise.
