Job Summary:

As part of our warehouse and delivery teams, you will use hand trucks and forklifts to load and unload delivery vehicles and drive vehicles to delivery locations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• None.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Identify and transport requested materials to and from various locations including machines, loading docks, railroad cars, trucks, and storage areas.
• Plan and complete an efficient delivery and pick-up route for the day.
• Load delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery.
• Maintain basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made.
• Ensure that delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; report larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor.
• Assist in general warehouse duties when the delivery route is completed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Drive safely.
• Use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
• Maintain basic logs and records.
• Follow instructions without constant supervision.
• Remain professional and courteous.
• Forklift certification and/or experience.
• Load and unload packages with and without dollies in various weather conditions.

Education And Experience

• Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test.
• Experience loading and unloading in a warehouse environment.
• Forklift certification and/or experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR report.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy items throughout a shift.

Physical Requirements

• Maintain focus and situational awareness.
• Move and lift up to 40 pounds.
