Job summary

U.S. Sugar in Clewiston, FL is seeking a Warehouse Worker to handle shipping, receiving, storage, issuing, and transport of inventory using heavy equipment.

The role requires independence or teamwork and periodic overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities include using a computerized inventory system, verifying materials against packing lists, maintaining security, and performing housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Must pass tests measuring basic skills, job skills, and aptitude.
• Must be 18+ with a good work/disciple history.
• Must have a valid Florida Class E Driver’s License or higher.
• Ability to read, write and speak English to follow instructions and ensure safety.
• New hires must pass a drug test and background screening.
• Must possess basic computer skills and interpret graphics related to measurements and parts requisitions.
• Able to physically perform essential job functions in good health.
• Must have color vision and both hands to identify color-coded materials.
• Forklift certification within 30 days if necessary.
• Able to read measurements with tapes, scales, and tools.

Responsibilities

• Abide by all Company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Complete training sessions, safety classes, pre-shift meetings, or certifications.
• Using a computerized inventory system, receive shipments and verify against bill of lading, report discrepancies, and process for payment.
• Label and store received material in the proper location, verifying inventory quantity as required in the documentation of material movement in the warehouse.
• Conduct regular physical inspections of material as required for Lay-up Maintenance or Shelf-life Program. Conduct periodic inventory cycle counts and physical inventories using bar code scanners.
• Assemble kits from inventory per requisition, stage materials as defined by Work Order materials requirements, and prepare material for shipment or transfers to other storage locations.
• Monitor personnel traffic in and out of the warehouse, challenging persons not authorized access to warehouse spaces, and reporting suspicious personnel or behavior to Warehouse Supervisor/Manager. Ensures that physical security barriers are secure at all times.
• Moves/relocate materials as required using hand truck, forklift, vehicle, or other means.
• Practice proper housekeeping by keeping warehouse spaces clean and walkways/aisles clear of materials or refuse at all times.
• Responsibly drive Company vehicles while abiding all State and Local laws.
