Job summary

Burke is seeking a Warehouse Department Lead on the 3rd shift at our Fond du Lac, WI headquarters to drive daily operations, safety, and team performance. You will plan the shift, lead meetings, monitor workflow, and coach staff to achieve productivity and shipping accuracy.

The role requires a strong leadership mindset, DC distribution experience, and ERP proficiency. We offer a shift premium, full-time benefits, and opportunities for growth within Burke.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; preferred not mandatory.
• 2+ years in a distribution center with leadership preferred.
• Strong work ethic and self-starter attitude required.
• Analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills expected.
• Ability to multi-task with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP experience with Epicor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and set up daily shift work, manage communications and staffing.
• Lead shift meetings and coordinate cross-department priorities.
• Monitor workflow for safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Coach and provide feedback to team on productivity and standards.
• Troubleshoot operational issues (personnel, inventory, fulfillment, ERP).
• Maintain department 6S standards and daily organization.
• Summarize and report daily performance metrics (production, safety).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Role – What You’ll Do!

This role helps us deliver high-quality play and playground equipment to communities around the world by:

• Daily Operations Planning: plan and set up work for your team prior to start of shift, manage email/Teams communications, staffing levels, and workload.
• Team Communication and Engagement: lead shift meetings (share safety topics, production goals/results, direction for the day), cross-department communication (work with peers to ensure level staffing and priorities throughout the warehouse).
• Monitor Workflow: actively monitor workflow throughout the day to ensure efficient, safe, and timely operations within your department.
• Performance Monitoring: Observe productivity and quality (safety, speed, standard work, packing accuracy) and give coaching/feedback as necessary.
• Issue Resolution: troubleshoot operational problems (personnel, inventory, fulfillment, process, ERP).
• Facility Cleanliness: maintain cleanliness standards (6S focus) including daily organization and cleaning of department area.
• Reporting and Communication: summarize and report on daily performance (productivity, efficiency, safety, planning)
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, you will be regularly required to walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel and be able to reach with your hands and arms. On a regular basis, we will need you to be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and be able to stand for up to 8-10 hours.

Qualifications That Move Us!

• High School graduate (secondary schooling preferred).
• 2+ years of experience working within a distribution center (prior leadership role(s) is preferred).
• An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions may be considered.
• Strong work ethic - must be a self-starter and willing to do what it takes to complete the task
• Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to multi-task and execute tasks with a high attention to detail
• Commitment to providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Microsoft Office (especially Excel) proficiency; ERP (Epicor) experience preferred
