Job summary

Gordon Food Service in Houston, TX is hiring a Custodian to support our distribution center operations. The role focuses on keeping facilities clean and safe, with a first shift from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and a Monday–Friday schedule.

Starting wage is $18.60 per hour, with weekly pay and a range of benefits including health plans from day one, wellness reimbursement, and company match on a 401(k). No experience required; training provided.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum floors and empty trash.
• Maintain cleanliness of buildings and ensure organized operations.
• Wash and sanitize work areas as needed to promote safety.
• Weather-related tasks: snow removal where applicable (distribution center).
• Support team by keeping facilities clean and well-maintained.

Gordon Food Service takes pride in delivering seamless order processing and delivery to our customers, and our warehouse staff is the backbone of our success. As a custodian, you’ll support our team by maintaining the buildings to ensure clean, organized operations. You will alsoweep, mop, scrub,vacuum, emptythetrash,clear snow, and maintain the landscaping. You canexpect to work in extreme temperatures (-25F to 100F) in the distribution center.There’s no experience required - we’ll train you how to get the job done!

Does this look like you?

• You must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed - holidays are very important to our customers!
• We have frozen products - your ability to work in extreme cold or hot conditions(-25F to 100F) is required while you’re here.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English (to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork, and follow verbal instructions).
• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage and a background check.
