Primary Purpose
Responsible for the district’s surplus property and district auctions.
Qualifications
- Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalency
- Driver’s License: Clear and valid Texas driver’s license
- Special Knowledge/Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office; Teamwork; Organization; Dependability; Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously; Ability to understand and follow detailed written or verbal instruction; Ability to communicate effectively with others; Ability to operate hand tools, mechanical equipment, delivery trucks with lift gates and forklift
- Experience: Knowledge of warehouse operations.
Performance Responsibilities and Duties
- Works at district facilities where surplus property is delivered and stored.
- Maintains a level of excess furniture and equipment to fulfill requests of district staff.
- Organizes and sets up the district online auction.
- Responsible for all photos and descriptions for auctions.
- Coordinates, meets all winning bidders and completes and finalizes each auction.
- Provide customer service by organizational standards.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing various tasks.
- Maintain equipment and vehicles in good working order.
- Assist with special projects.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Purchasing.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and carrying; operate tools, equipment, and vehicles according to prescribed safety procedures.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to warehouse manager.

Mental Demands and Physical Demands
- Tools/Equipment Used: Computer, Printer, Scanner, hand trucks, manual and electric pallet jacks, ladder, small hand tools, electric shrink wrap machine, forklift, lift equipment and delivery trucks.
- Posture: Frequent standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting, sitting, and climbing
- Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent walking, ladder climbing, wrist flexion/extension, overhead reaching, frequent driving
- Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds or over) on a daily basis
- Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress at all times
- Environmental Factors: Work outside and inside, on slippery and uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, noise, and vibration; work around moving objects or vehicles; may work alone.
