Warehouse Coordinator

Supervises: Warehouse and Dock Personnel.

Reports to: General Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Director of Business, or Administrator (if in production store – Production Store Manager).

Status: Non‑exempt.

Function: The Warehouse Coordinator will oversee all warehouse and dock operations and maintain safety on the dock.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee all warehouse and dock operations, maintaining order and safety in the warehouse and dock for all items being loaded or unloaded.
  • Supervise operation of forklift as necessary, ensuring operators observe all safety regulations. Supervise operation of scales and proper recording of weights.
  • Supervise and/or handle all baling operations.
  • Direct all incoming material to proper staging areas, ensuring saleable items are not discarded.
  • Oversee all personnel and hold staff accountable for appropriate behavior and language on the dock.
  • Supervise the loading and unloading of all ARC trucks and loading of bale trucks.
  • Oversee beneficiaries assigned to work therapy in the warehouse and dock area.
  • Handle duties of Production/General Supervisor in their absence. May also fill in for Production Assistants, expeditor or Dispatcher as needed.
  • Operate forklift as needed.
  • Manage flow of product in the warehouse.
  • Ensure that all product is placed in correct locations in the warehouse.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of employees, identifying performance strengths and areas of development, recommending training as necessary, and preparing written warnings as needed.
  • This position supports the work therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation centers by providing beneficiaries with an example of professional conduct and work habits.
  • Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or Administrator for Business.
  • When providing work therapy supervision, complete evaluations for each beneficiary and turn them into the Administrator(s) and ARC Counselors monthly for placement in the beneficiary’s file.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Two (2) years transportation, warehouse, and/or loading dock experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable DMV record.
  • Completion of Forklift Certification is required.

  • Sitting: Under one‑third of the time.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
  • Push/Pull Using Machinery: Yes.
  • Standing: Over two‑thirds of the time.
  • Walking: Over two‑thirds of the time.
  • Reaching: Over two‑thirds of the time.
  • Climbing: Under one‑third of the time.
  • Stooping: Under one‑third of the time.
Employment at Will

Employees of The Salvation Army are considered employees at will. This means that the employment arrangement between the employee and The Salvation Army may be terminated by the employee or by The Salvation Army at any time with or without cause. No Salvation Army representative may change the at‑will employment relationship through oral or written promises.
