Job summary

ofi, a global leader in food and beverage ingredients, is seeking an entry-level Warehouse Assistant to join our on-site team in Samson, Alabama. Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, you will help manage cold storage and shelling operations, support shipping, and ensure adherence to GMP and safety standards.

The role requires basic math, teamwork, good communication, and willingness to work varied shifts. Physical fitness to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods is needed, with peanuts

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

• Role performed on site in a facility handling peanuts.

Responsibilities

• Follow GMPs, Preventive Control Rules, and Occupational Safety Rules.
• Ensure product has no cross-contamination with allergens before loading/unloading.
• Follow PPE guidelines.
• Maintain Cold Storage areas per Safe Food Plan and Sanitation Schedule.
• Maintain wall clearance to prevent pest harborage.
• Assist Shipping Manager in efficient, cost-effective shipping of finished product to customers.
• Follow shipping instructions for each customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

ofi values in-person collaboration with colleagues – employees are expected to work their specific work schedule on site at their ofi location.

Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the Warehouse Assistant is an entry level position that will be responsible for the daily labor tasks for the Cold Storage and Shelling Warehouse.

What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities

• Follow all Olam Peanut Shelling Company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Preventive Control Rules, and Occupational Safety Rules.
• Ensure product has no risk of being cross contaminated with another allergen prior to loading or unloading any lots.
• Follow Olam Peanut Shelling Company Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) guidelines.
• Maintain the Cold Storage areas in accordance with the Safe Food Plan and Master Sanitation Schedule.
• Maintain wall clearance to avoid potential pest harborages and or infestations.
• Assist the Shipping Manager in the efficient and cost-effective shipping of finished product to customers.
• Follow all shipping instructions required by each specific customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned

The pay for this role is $13.87 hourly and is based on position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay may be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and/or other determining factors.
