Summary
Under direct supervision, performs manual and clerical duties related to the shipment and receipt of component parts and finished goods. Responsible for verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
Essential Functions
- Maintains stock records, logs, reports, and other documentation. Records goods received; rejects damaged, excess, or misdirected goods.
- Reviews orders for correct part number and description to ensure that the correct product and/or part is ordered. Identifies order discrepancies and corrects discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Loads and ships customer orders. Maintains an inventory of cartons, tapes, crates, clamps, foam, and other packing material.
- Verifies and appropriately packages all parts according to product specifications to prevent damage and/or customers from receiving a defective item.
- Provides excellent customer service via telephone and in person. Responds to phone calls/emails requesting parts information in a timely manner.
- Reviews and troubleshoots customer problems and initiates standard corrective action procedures.
- Notifies management when inventory of specific items is low or when orders will deplete available inventory. Ensures that an adequate stock of parts is available to meet customer needs.
- Keeps parts and stock area neat, organized, and clean.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED and three years of shipping and receiving experience is required.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.
- Good computer and organizational skills
- Team player, willing to help others and accept help from others
- Ability to carry out repetitive tasks quickly and methodically
- Ability to follow safety policies and procedures
- Ability to read and understand written work instructions
- Great communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Sit for extended periods of time.
- Stand and walk intermittently.

- Carry or move materials and equipment weighing up to 51 lbs. Lift objects of various weights in different directions.
- Hold arms and hands in one position for extended periods.
- Use hands and fingers to move and assemble small parts.
- Repetitive motions of body parts.
- Operate manual and powered hand tools and machinery.
- Operate powered industrial trucks and equipment.
- Operate machinery such as press brakes, refrigerant charging stations, and hoists.
- Squat and kneel to access materials and equipment in tight or enclosed spaces.
- Handle chemicals.
- Visual acuity for activities like data analysis, inspection, and assembly.
- Communicate with others to exchange information.
- Direct others as necessary.
- When travel is required, visual acuity to operate motor vehicles in daytime and nighttime.
Work Environment
- Works in both office and manufacturing, warehouse, and supporting areas. Must exercise caution around hazardous conditions.
- Indoor and outdoor work, exposed to environmental conditions like heat, cold, precipitation, wind, and sunlight.
- Exposure to vibrations and moderate-to-loud noises. PPE required.
