Job purpose and direct-hire opportunity with benefits and job security are available. The role reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and works in a warehouse environment to receive and schedule shipping and freight operations, developing knowledge of warehouse organization and proper shipping documentation. The position collaborates with the warehouse team to ensure customer satisfaction and to accept and schedule customer orders.
Responsibilities
- Check in all drivers.
- Print all pertinent paperwork for shipping.
- Coordinate with the dock and drivers on loading doors.
- Ensure all paperwork is properly signed by the pickup driver.
- Close loads in the system.
- Coordinate with Customer Service regarding special paperwork (e.g., international orders, special BOLs); enter customer orders and scan/index documents as required.
- Understand RJW goals, policies, and procedures.
- Communicate customer problems, leads, and inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality of company information.
- Recommend improvements and implement approved changes.
- Update reports as required by operations management.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Additional Responsibilities
- Positive telephone personality with strong customer service skills.
- Capable of being trained to be ‘Phone Assertive’.
- Ability to multi-task and plan effectively; strong organizational skills.
- Computer abilities including word processing, spreadsheets, and ability to learn RJW's software applications.
Qualifications
- Basic office clerical skills; ability to type at least 40 wpm.
- 1–2 years of clerical experience.
- Basic transportation, logistics, and shipping experience.
Education and/or Experience Required
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials; ability to write reports and business correspondence; ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; compute rate, ratio, and percent; interpret bar graphs.
