Responsibilities

  • Move materials to shipping or other storage areas as needed.
  • Read work orders and fill requisitions; record issue entries and back-orders.
  • Enter material transactions into the system and document discrepancies.
  • Prepare, weigh, count, and assemble items for orders and relocate to holding areas or shipping.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe warehouse work area at all times.
  • Support cycle counts and inventory accuracy efforts.

Job Title: Warehouse Clerk

Department: 800 – Stockroom/Power Products

Reports To: Power Products Production Manager

FLSA Status: Hourly / Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

Supports the receiving of material(s) used in the manufacturing process(es), compiles and maintains data base of inventory records, data input and retrieval daily of transactions in the Stockroom, posting, and maintaining various logs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receives stock from inspection or production; properly identifies and sorts items, then places items on racks, shelves, carts, bins or other storage area according to location system or other instructions. This may require the use of a forklift truck, personal mechanical lift, hand truck, or stock cart.
  • Moves materials and items from receiving, storage areas, or production areas to shipping, other production or designated storage areas.
  • Reads work orders, shipping orders, requisitions, or other requests for materials to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped. Fills orders or requisitions, recording all necessary issue entries and back-order information.
  • Enters material transactions for material movement into system and distributes any requisitions copies as prescribed. Identifies and documents any discrepant material.
  • Prepares, weighs, counts, and assembles items for an order, then places order on pallets, shelves, carts and relocates orders to holding areas or shipping department.
  • Marks materials or items with identifying information using appropriate method.
  • Inventories records as required on all items and materials in stock. Posts and checks any minimum balance items daily. Assists in counting physical inventory as needed.
  • Assists the stockroom in the cycle counts processes and requirements.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties related to the job as requested by supervision.
  • Keep warehouse, work area, and materials orderly and clean at all times, while ensuring warehouse is accessible and safe for any personnel traffic. Exercises care in the maintenance of the warehouse or other storage areas.
  • Conforms with safety and any inspection requirements.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS, and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Education: High school / GED; Technical degree or similar preferred.
  • Equipment:
    • Safety equipment as designated by supervision, forklift truck, personal mechanical lift, hand truck, stock cart, scales, measuring devices, and computerized inventory system.
    • Safety equipment as designated by supervision.
  • Experience & Abilities:
    • Requires one (1) year of applied experience in a manufacturing Stockroom environment, operating material handling equipment and computerized inventory control programs.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents and instructions, record or enter routine reports into computerized system.
    • Use of basic math in measuring and weighing materials.
    • Requires ability to handle and move materials manually or with mechanical lift assistance.
    • Previous inventory control and stockroom experience.
  • US Person:
    • This position must meet “US Person” Export Control Requirements as defined by 22 CFR 120.62 - “US Person means a person who is a lawful permanent resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or who is a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)”.
