Job summary

Carolina International Trucks is hiring a Warehouse Clerk in Charleston, SC to support the parts warehouse operations. You will receive, store, and distribute parts to fulfill customer orders while keeping the warehouse organized and safe.

The role requires basic computer skills and a willingness to operate forklifts, with potential for local deliveries and routine inventory tasks. Weekly pay and company benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

• Receiving: inspect incoming parts for damage, verify quantities and part numbers, input into the inventory system, operate forklifts.
• Storing: organize parts, label and tag items, maintain a clean warehouse.
• Distributing: pick and pack parts for orders, verify before shipping, prepare packing slips and labels.
• Inventory Management: assist with counts and adjustments, resolve discrepancies.
• Equipment Maintenance: operate warehouse equipment safely and perform basic upkeep.

Job Summary:

The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for assisting with the efficient and accurate operation of the parts warehouse. This role involves receiving, storing, and distributing parts to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders and maintain an organized warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receiving:
  
  
  
  • Inspect incoming parts for damage or defects.
  
  
  • Verify quantities and part numbers against purchase orders.
  
  
  • Accurately record and input received items into the inventory management system.
  
  
  • Operating forklifts
  
  
  
  


• Storing:
  
  
  
  • Organize and store parts in designated locations according to established procedures.
  
  
  • Label and tag parts appropriately for easy identification and retrieval.
  
  
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
  
  
  
  


• Distributing:
  
  
  
  • Pick and pack parts for outgoing orders based on customer requirements.
  
  
  • Verify part numbers and quantities before shipping.
  
  
  • Prepare shipping documentation, including packing slips and shipping labels.
  
  
  
  


• Inventory Management:
  
  
  
  • Assist with periodic inventory counts and adjustments.

  • Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and efficiently.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.


• Experience working in a warehouse environment is preferred.


• Strong organizational and time management skills.


• Attention to detail and accuracy.


• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.


• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.


• Valid forklift operator's license is a plus.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.


• Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.


• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:

• Work in a warehouse environment, which may include exposure to temperature fluctuations, dust, and noise.
