About This Role
The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for the accurate, timely, and efficient execution of warehouse operations, including order picking, packing, shipping, receiving, inventory handling, stocking, and general warehouse support. This position plays a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency. Daily responsibilities may vary based on business needs, requiring flexibility, attention to detail, and adherence to company policies and standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick, pack, and ship customer orders accurately and efficiently in accordance with company standard operating procedures.
- Verify part numbers, quantities, shipping methods, and order accuracy prior to shipment.
- Prepare shipping labels, packing lists, and required documentation using company shipping systems.
- Meet established productivity, accuracy, and timeliness expectations for assigned warehouse tasks.
- Pull product from designated inventory locations and stage shipments for processing.
- Perform stocking, replenishment, put-away, and material handling activities as assigned.
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions within ERP and warehouse management systems.
- Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliation activities.
- Identify and report inventory discrepancies, damaged product, or operational issues to supervision.
- Assist with inbound receiving, inspection, and stocking of incoming shipments.
- Support general warehouse operations by assisting with workload balancing and cross-functional tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Operate manual pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment as required.
- Operate powered warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers, only after receiving company certification.
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures, equipment operating guidelines, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready documentation related to warehouse activities.
- Communicate operational concerns, safety issues, inventory discrepancies, or service risks to the Warehouse Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Support overtime and additional operational coverage as business needs require.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn ERP and shipping systems.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical work throughout the scheduled workday.
- Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds; team lifting required for heavier items.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping, distribution, or logistics environment.
- Familiarity with parcel and freight carriers, including UPS, FedEx, DHL, and LTL freight.
- Experience using ERP systems, warehouse management systems, or shipping software.
- Previous certification or experience operating forklifts or other powered warehouse equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Frequent use of warehouse equipment, barcode scanners, computers, and shipping systems.
- Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; heavier items require team lifting or mechanical assistance.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment after receiving company certification.
- Ability to work overtime and flexible hours as operational needs require.
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and other departments.
