Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Clerk in Brownstown, Michigan. The role offers weekly pay and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) with company match, plus paid time off and on-the-job training.

Expect third shift hours (10:00pm–6:30am) with a $1.50 per hour shift premium and a base pay of $23.57 per hour, plus overtime opportunities. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, warehouse or clerical experience, forklift

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year clerical or warehouse experience preferred.
• 1+ year forklift experience preferred.
• 1+ year Microsoft Office experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer service oriented.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities with clerks, customers and suppliers as needed.
• Update area metrics using the WMS system.
• Generate reports and summaries (daily/weekly/monthly).
• Floor work and additional duties as assigned.
• Perform basic administrative tasks and filing.
• Provide information to floor employees and support staff.
• Coordinate meetings and communications for the shift area.
• Perform other duties as required by location.

Warehouse Positions Pay Weekly

• Hourly Pay $23.57 per hour
• Overtime Pay $35.35 per hour
• Shift Premium: $1.50 per hour when working 3rd shift
• Schedule: Third Shift Monday - Friday 10:00pm - 6:30am

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year or more clerical or warehouse experience preferred
• One (1) year or more experience operating forklift equipment preferred
• One (1) year or more Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates customer service skills.
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors).
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
• Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
• Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates activities with clerks from other floor areas, the customer and/or other suppliers as needed.
• Using the location's WMS system updates area or shift metrics as needed.
• Generates daily, weekly or monthly reports, memos, and summaries often of a technical and/or confidential nature.
• Floor work and additional duties as assigned.
• Performs basic administrative tasks for area or shift. Maintains filing systems and documents.
• Gathers from and provides information to floor employees in his/her area of support.
• Coordinatesactivities/meetings/communicationfor the specific area or shift.
• Performs other duties as assigned depending on area supported or if location specific.
