Job summary

Kline Electric Inc is seeking a Warehouse Clerk to join our Ankeny, IA team. You’ll manage inventory, organize shipments, and help ensure smooth warehouse operations in a growing, employee-owned company.

Responsibilities include inputting shipments, updating the inventory system, and following safety policies, with opportunities for advancement and on-site training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months or more of similar or related experience.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
• Reliable transportation.
• Able to be insured under the company vehicle policy.
• Ability to do simple addition and subtraction.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies orally or in writing.

• Operate material handling equipment.
• Input accepted shipments into inventory systems daily.
• Update warehouse management system daily (KOJO & Fishbowl).
• Adheres to Company policies and guidelines.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
• Track incoming/outgoing job material/inventory.
• Assist in receiving incoming shipments, inspecting goods for damage, and updating inventory systems accordingly. Prepare outgoing shipments and ensure compliance with shipping regulations.

Job Summary:

Assist in the efficient operation of our warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory management, timely order fulfillment, and a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Must have the ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to be insured under company’s vehicle insurance policy.
• Ability to do simple addition and subtraction.
• Possess the ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies orally or in writing.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly; 100 lbs occasionally.
• Must stand and walk for long periods, typically during 8-hour shifts.
• Frequent bending, stooping, and squatting to organize and pick items.
• Ability to reach overhead and grasp items from various heights.
• Good hand-eye coordination for packing and sorting tasks.
• Occasionally climb ladders or step stools to access high shelves.

Work Environment:

• Primarily in a warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
• Use of PPE like gloves and safety shoes is required.
• May involve operating forklifts and pallet jacks; training will be provided.
• Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment.
